The Bill Mckoy Foundation

who we are

The Bill McKoy Foundation was founded on the principle that citizens must be empowered with honesty, sincerity, and authenticity. Honesty is the cornerstone of our foundation; it is the bedrock upon which our other values are built. Sincerity guides our interactions with others, both inside and outside of the foundation. And authenticity allows us to stay true to ourselves while empowering others.

The Bill McKoy Foundation is the culmination of my decades of public service and a firm belief in the idea that everyone has the right to a fair shot at success and that everyone benefits from working together.

The foundation’s annual Toys for Kids drive facilitates and supports our “Christmas Gift-Giving Party” for the children of the City of Paterson. Last year, the Making a Difference with the Friends of Bill McKoy Foundation shared the spirit of the Christmas season with approximately 400 children. The primary goal of the “Christmas Gift-Giving Party” is to spread the joy of Christmas and the love of humanity to our youth during this special time of celebration.

about bill mckoy

Bill McKoy is currently the Chief Auditor for the Early Childhood Department of the Jersey City Public School District. He also served from March 2001 to 2005 as the District’s Supervising Senior Auditor Internal Auditing Department. In March 2001 Bill left Verizon Communications ending a professional career of over twenty years in the Telecommunication industry, so he could better serve his community. While at Verizon, Bill participated in a six-year rotational assignment with the National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) in Whippany, New Jersey. During his term at NECA, he managed multifunctional teams to develop and deliver the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC’s) $2.25 Billion Schools and Libraries Discount program (commonly known as the E-Rate).

Bill attributes his success first and foremost to God’s grace and His pre-eminence in his life, as well as his educational accomplishments and experience in the telecommunications industry. By linking his faith in God’s ability, his education, work experience, and community involvement, Bill McKoy has made a difference in his community. This he accomplishes through The Making a Difference with the Friends of Bill McKoy Foundation, Inc. incorporated in 2004.
